We enjoyed our stay very much. Playa is a perfect vacation destination, and staying at the Acanto was special. Hopefully we'll have a chance to come again one day.

The Acanto is a two-story building with 6 or 7 suites surrounding a small courtyard, which also contains a beautiful pool. It is on a tree-shaded street a half block from 5th Avenue, which is the main street. It is remarkably quiet considering that night life on 5th Avenue can get rather lively at times. It is about one long block to the Beach. Although it is in the northern end of town, the whole commercial district can be walked on 5th Ave.in 20-30 minutes. The rooms have very high ceilings and are quite spacious and furnished with a touch of Old World charm.. There are ceiling fans in both rooms and air conditioning in the bedroom, if needed. The kitchen had everything needed for breakfast each morning and snacks late at night. (We preferred to eat out at the many fine restaurants during the evening.). We were able to get supplies at the Mega supermarket about 4 blocks away on 14-1/2 Street. We wer e in Suite #6 on the second floor and had a balcony overlooking the pool with a table and chairs where we could eat breakfast in the perfect morning weather, We were there in the last week of January. The temperatures ranged from the high 70's in the day to the middle 60's at night. There was no sign of rain. The staff of the Acanto were consistently pleasant and helpful. My only regret is that we didn't plan to stay for a second week. I am certain that we will the next time.

this was my 3rd time in Playa and my 2nd time staying at Acanto. The hotel is so beautiful and very very clean. the staff is amazing and extremely accomadating. We were there for a wedding and had a meet and greet party at Acanto it was the perfect setting for the party. I would recommend Acanto to anyone as a matter a fact another friend of mine is getting married and she is going to honeymoon in Playa and stay at Acanto as well.

We stayed at the Acanto Hotel & Suites for a romantic quiet get-away. What a wonderful place!! It was quiet (no kids) with a gated entrance so there was only one way in and one way out. A great way to monitor who comes in and out. The room was beautifully decorated. We always had clean towels everyday. The restaurant across the entrance Negrals was fabulous. There is an ATM machine conveniently located across from the entrance as well and a wonderful place for breakfast just around the corner. Everything is centrally located without being in the middle of all the tourist attractions. I HIGHLY recommend to those who enjoy experiencing local culture to stay here. We will definitely return. BTW, the pool was very refreshing and clean.

my wife and I enjoyed four nights at the acanto this spring and had a fabulous time. the hotel was very unique and interesting, the rooms large and comfortable, and the location (2 blocks from the beach) could not be beat. We will definately go back.

My husband and I originally planned to stay in an AI in the Playa area; however, after reading the mixed/bad reviews of so many of the larger properties, we ignored our "herding instinct" , got out of our AI comfort zone and opted for Acanto-best decision we could have made! The hotel is a truly special place-maybe not for everyone, depending on what your needs or wants are. It has a unique atmosphere, is conveniently close to everything, yet is peaceful and secluded on it's quiet side street . A great location for getting out and exploring the town. The rooms were spacious and comfortable-loved the 2nd floor rooms with vaulted ceilings. The hotel is really beautiful and romantic at night-tiki torches greet you at the entrance and candles, incense, accent lighting and tropical plantings and trees add to the setting. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions, and the housekeeping staff kept our room very clean. Acanto is a great place to retreat to after a busy day and evening in Playa!
